STOCKHOLM – Fast fashion giant H&M has defended its heavy reliance on synthetic fibres such as polyester while arguing that all fibres – not just synthetics – shed microfibres into waterways. The retailer also suggested that it’s a “common myth” that natural fibres are better for the environment “because they are natural.”
