ACCRA – In the aftermath of the devastating fire at Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana, calls are growing for major fashion brands to support relief efforts. However, only one major apparel brand has stepped forward so far.
The fire, which began on January 1st, 2025, consumed over 60 per cent of the market, leaving thousands without their livelihoods. Despite contributions from brands such as Puma, Bel & Bo, Debrand, and eBay, the Or Foundation says much more funding is required to rebuild the market with fire safety measures in place and to provide relief to those affected.
