BERLIN – Major corporates, including global fashion brands, are falling short on climate commitments, a new report claims. It suggests that despite increased ambition in their climate target-setting, 51 of the world’s largest companies are only committing to reducing emissions by 30 per cent on average by 2030 – falling short of the 43 per cent reduction required to limit global warming to 1.5°C. The report was released this week by NewClimate Institute in collaboration with Carbon Market Watch.
