BRUSSELS – The new EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles has been almost unanimously well received by key fashion and textile industry stakeholders. The European Commission announced the strategy this week which is aimed at improving clothing quality and shifting away from fast fashion, increasing recycling rates, reducing waste and clamping down on greenwashing. The strategy is by far the most ambitious yet within the EU to tackle fashion’s vast environmental problem.
