BRUSSELS – The European Union has placed fast-fashion giant Shein under rigorous scrutiny according to its new Digital Services Act (DSA), requiring the retailer to adhere to stringent regulations aimed at curbing illegal online activities. Shein, originally founded in China and now operating out of Singapore, boasts over 45 million monthly users in the EU, crossing the threshold that subjects it to the DSA’s requirements.
