SILLAMÄE – A major textile recycling centre is planned for Sillamäe, a town in eastern Estonia, which is set to become the largest facility of its kind in the Baltic region. This project, with a planned operational date by the end of 2026, is spearheaded by Eesti Keskkonnateenused and Greenful Group. It will produce construction boards and panels from recycled textile fibres.
The initiative represents a total investment of €100m, of which €39m is financed by Estonia’s Enterprise and Innovation Foundation (EISA) through the European Union’s Just Transition Fund (JTF). The project involves collaboration among three companies to process textile waste, ensuring the output from one factory serves as raw material for the next in the chain.
