WASHINGTON – Esquel Group, the Hong Kong-based textile and apparel manufacturer, has filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Commerce over its inclusion on the US Entity List. Changji Esquel Textile was added to the US Entity List last summer over alleged links with human rights violations in connection with the treatment of Uygurs in Xinjiang. Companies on the US Entity List are subject to US trade restrictions.

Changji Esquel Textile is part of the Esquel Group, which produces clothing for Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss and Patagonia.
