CAIRO – Egypt has announced ambitious Chinese-backed plans for a US$1.5bn to US$2bn textile industrial city in Port Said. Officials say it would be the first integrated carbon-neutral textile manufacturing hub in the Middle East and North Africa.
The project, called Egyptian Textile Industries City – Cloud Chain, is being developed in partnership with Chinese industrial city developer Cloud Chain.
