Dutch investor quits apparel sector over sustainability concerns

THE HAGUE – ASN Impact Investors, a sustainability-focused asset manager with a portfolio valued at €4.2bn, has decided to completely divest from the clothing industry. ASN cited insufficient progress on sustainability and human rights issues by major companies such as H&M, Zara, and Asics, who are struggling to keep up with Chinese competitors. This move makes ASN the first Dutch investor to exit the clothing sector.
