TEXAS – Shein, the controversial fast fashion brand which churns out up to 10,000 new garment products per day, has become a member of Textile Exchange, the US non-profit whose vision is “an enriching global textile industry that protects people and planet.” Membership of TE follows closely on the back of Shein becoming a signatory to the UN Global Compact as well as joining the Canopy Style initiative.
Shein was recently valued at US$100bn, making it worth as much as Zara and H&M combined. The business made revenues of US$15.7bn in 2021.
