BEIJING – China has officially launched its own rival cotton standard to the globally dominant Better Cotton Initiative. Launching the ‘Cotton China Sustainable Development Program’, China Cotton Association (CCA) said the homegrown standard and certification system aim to “counter the West’s dominance that has posed serious threat on China’s cotton industry.”
