TORONTO – Canadian jacket-maker Canada Goose has been fined by China’s industry watchdog for making misleading advertising claims about the materials used in its products. The business is accused of flouting China’s advertising laws due to the claim that it uses ‘Hutterite down’, the warmest down available. China’s regulator, the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, alleges Canada Goose uses other kinds of down in most of its products. Canada Goose was fined 450,000 yuan, the equivalent of about US$88,000.
