ZUG – C&A has entered an agreement to sell its Chinese operations to a Beijing-based private equity company. C&A (China) Company Limited will be sold to Beijing Zhongke Tongrong Private Equity Investment Fund Co for an undisclosed fee. With 67 stores in 23 cities, the China operation of C&A is comparatively small although this was viewed as a significant growth opportunity when the retailer initially entered China. The first Chinese branch of C&A was opened in 2007, and the Brenninkmeijer took the company online in China in 2014.
