SAN FRANCISCO – Supply chain emission figures for global fashion brands could be misleading if biomass powered manufacturing facilities are deemed to be carbon neutral. A new report claims the use of biomass to power manufacturing facilities in fashion supply chains is not a green alternative to fossil fuel. And the investigation says fashion brands are duping consumers on ‘eco-friendly’ claims by “relying on pollution-emitting biomass boilers.”
