    NEW YORK – The Coalition to End Forced Labour in the Uyghur Region claims leading fashion brands are dragging their feet, “making empty declarations” or “remaining silent on the issue of Uyghur forced labour.” The coalition claims many brands are failing to take the necessary actions to extricate their supply chains from the Uyghur Region, citing companies such as Amazon, Nike, Uniqlo, Walmart and Zara, together with “many industry associations and multi-stakeholder initiatives which purport to promote an ethical fashion industry.”
