WASHINGTON – A business which sits on the council of the Better Cotton Initiative has been placed on the ‘Entity List’ of the US. Aksu Huafu Textiles Co is accused by US authorities of being complicit in human rights violations and abuses committed in China’s Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR).
Aksu Huafu Textiles Co is part of Huafu Fashion Co. Ltd., the world’s largest supplier of melange yarn, and a business which sits on the BCI Council
The Entity List includes the names of foreign persons, government organisations and companies that are subject to specific license requirements for the export of certain items.
