Bangladesh energy crisis hits output at 78% of knitwear factories

DHAKA – Bangladesh’s is now costing its garment manufacturers orders, with 78 per cent of factories reporting they have partially halted production. An industry survey of 134 knitwear factories found that 55 per cent had experienced order cancellations or reductions because of gas and electricity shortages in recent weeks.
