NOBEOKA – Asahi Kasei will restart Bemberg production this month at its Nobeoka facility, the only site where the company makes its cupro filament.
The company said output would resume gradually, marking the latest step in rebuilding capacity after a partial shutdown triggered by an incident at the plant in April 2022. A fire at the plant disrupted supply of the fibre into the global lining and fashion market.
