BRUSSELS – The European Commission has opened formal proceedings against Chinese fashion giant Shein under the Digital Services Act. The Commission said the investigation will examine whether Shein has breached key DSA obligations relating to the sale of illegal products, the design of its platform, and the transparency of its recommender systems.
