EU confirms ban on destruction of unsold clothing

BRUSSELS – The European Union is adopting new rules that will prohibit the destruction of unsold clothing and shoes. The measures, part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), are designed to cut waste, reduce environmental impact and “accelerate the shift towards a circular economy.”
