DELFT – Researchers in the the Netherlands found a simple change in how we frame social norms can nudge people into more sustainable fashion habits. Across two experiments, participants exposed to messages that depicted current fashion consumption as unsustainable and getting worse went on to choose fewer items in a mock online shop. They also showed stronger support for policies to limit purchases.
