TANGIERS – 28 workers have been killed after a garment factory in Morocco was flooded by rainwater. Local reports suggest the factory, located in the basement of a residential building, did not meet necessary health and safety conditions and was carrying out sub-contracting work, allegedly illegally.

According to Industriall affiliates in Morocco, more than 130 people were employed in the factory in “inhuman conditions, not meeting the minimum requirements for health and safety and decent work.”
