ASA bans Nike, Superdry and Lacoste ads over green claims

LONDON – The UK Advertising Standards Authority has banned paid Google ads from Nike, Superdry and Lacoste after ruling that each brand used sustainability language without adequate supporting evidence. The decisions form part of a wider ASA project examining environmental claims in the retail fashion sector. The ads were flagged through the regulator’s Active Ad Monitoring system, which uses AI to proactively scan online advertising.
