BRUSSELS – The European Union has announced a ban on the use of undecafluorohexanoic acid (PFHxA) and PFHxA-related substances in range of products, including textiles, with implications for brands selling outdoor clothing into the EU.
These chemicals, part of the broader per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) family, have raised significant concerns due to their persistence in water an potential harm to human health and the environment.
