JAKARTA – Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), the world’s largest producer of viscose fibre, has links to a major pulp plant in Indonesia which threatens tropical rainforests claims a new Greenpeace investigation. Greenpeace claims RGE’s deforestation links are a clear contradiction of its sustainability strategy. The NGO gathered evidence via satellite imagery, trade data, vessel tracking reports and supplier disclosure data.

The report links RGE to a new mega-scale pulp mill under construction in northeast Kalimantan, Indonesia which is expected to threaten some of the world’s largest tropical rainforests.
