MUNICH – Performance Days has expanded into a third exhibition hall for the first time, with almost 600 exhibitors at its October 2026 edition. The show also sees the launch of a new Sustainability Exchange focused on regulation, circularity and industry collaboration.
The functional fabrics trade fair, taking place on 13–14 October at Messe München, covers approximately 27,500 square metres, making it the largest edition in the event’s history.
Organisers said the expansion follows record exhibitor demand, with space nearly sold out several months ahead of the event.
Major companies exhibiting for the first time include W. L. Gore & Associates, Youngone Corporation, Hyundai Chemical and Linz Textil.
“Performance Days is currently experiencing the strongest demand in its history,” said CEO Marco Weichert. “Expanding into three halls reflects the importance the platform has gained within the international industry.”
The additional space will accommodate new exhibitors, specialist areas and technical forums covering material innovation and garment technologies.
The event will also introduce the Sustainability Exchange, a dedicated area bringing together organisations working on certification, traceability, textile recycling, responsible sourcing and regulatory compliance.
Confirmed participants include bluesign, Control Union, Fashion for Good, Global Standard, Hohenstein, RETRAKT and China Textile Recycling.
The initiative is intended to help businesses respond to increasingly complex sustainability requirements, including the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), Digital Product Passports and EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
“Sustainability is no longer a specialist topic. It affects every company, every product and every supply chain,” said Anna Schuster, head of sustainability at Performance Days.
The new area will include a Sustainability Stage addressing legislation, circular textile systems, biodiversity and material innovation, alongside interactive workshops examining compliance and supply chain challenges.
A garment repair service, operated with Second Ascent, will demonstrate practical approaches to extending clothing lifespans.
The expansion comes as Performance Days continues to develop its international network, which includes Functional Fabric Fair events in the US and Functional Textiles Shanghai.
