DHAKA – Bangladesh suffered a sharp fall in apparel exports to the European Union during the first seven months of 2026. The country lost ground to China and Vietnam as the overall import market contracted.
EU apparel imports fell by 5.1 per cent in value between January and July, declining from €54.39bn a year earlier to €51.61bn. Import volumes dropped by 3.23 per cent to 2.60 billion kilograms.
