Piñatex maker puts UK arm into administration

LONDON – Ananas Anam UK Limited, the company behind high profile pineapple-leaf textile Piñatex, has entered administration. The appointment of joint administrators Neil Bennett and Alex Cadwallader was made in the High Court of Justice, Business and Property Courts of England and Wales.

The filings make clear this process applies only to the UK entity. The group’s subsidiaries in Spain and the Philippines are not in administration. The papers list Ananas Anam España SL, based near Barcelona with around 15 staff, and Ananas Anam Philippines Inc, based in Laguna with around 20 staff, both continuing to operate from leased premises.
