    WASHINGTON – In its 2024 annual report, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission has called for the immediate elimination of the de minimis exemption for e-commerce shipments, signalling a critical shift in trade policy. The recommendation, championed by Commissioner Kim Glas, addresses the exploitation of a decades-old provision, originally intended for small, personal imports.
