SOUTH CAROLINA – A new briefing suggests the fashion industry will struggle to meet its ambitious targets for using recycled polyester in collections without billions of dollars of investment in research and development to help clear supply chain bottlenecks. However, the briefing warns that, according to the most recent figures available, there is a “very limited supply” of recycled PET bottles available to meet the growing demand for recycled products across a wide range of industries.
