STOCKHOM – Textile technology companies Spinnova and Renewcell have announced a new partnership to develop and commercialise a textile waste-based fibre. The new fibre production concept combines patented technology from both companies. It sees Spinnova’s clean solution being used to convert Renewcell’s textile waste pulp product, Circulose, into a new, bio-based textile fibre, “without any harmful chemicals in the fibre spinning process.” The first consumer products from the new textile fibres are estimated to be available by the end of 2024.
