LONDON – 31 human and labour rights organisations have submitted group testimony to this week’s parliamentary hearing on Uyghur forced labour in UK supply chains. They are urging the UK Government to take action to ensure businesses operating in the UK are not benefitting from the abuses of the Uyghurs in Xinjiang.
The signatories have also called for the UK Government to urgently introduce legislation which would compel UK businesses to prevent human rights abuses in their supply chains – holding them liable if they fail to do so.
