ACCRA – The proportion of used clothing exported to Ghana which is of too low quality to have any resale value is far lower than has previously been claimed, according to new research.

The study, released by the Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association (GUCDA), claims less than 5 per cent of the second-hand clothing (SHC) imported into Ghana could be considered waste which cannot be resold. Previous reports have suggested this figure was as high as 40 per cent.
