LONDON – A new method is being developed to upcycle microfibres captured from laundering clothes into a useful and valuable carbon material. The carbon nanomaterials developed using the patent-pending upcycling method can be used in various products including batteries, solar cells and medical devices. The process could be set for commercialisation following further viability studies.
