LONDON – Over 50 cross-party MPs and Peers have written to the UK Home Secretary Priti Patel calling for greater protection for garment factory workers, including a licensing scheme for garment factories. They are joined by 40 retailers, investors and NGOs in their call for action
The joint letter, coordinated by the British Retail Consortium, calls for the introduction of statutory licensing of garment factories to ensure they all meet their legal obligations to employees and are ‘Fit to Trade.’
