WASHINGTON – A group of 20 unions and labour rights groups have filed an OECD complaint in the US alleging labour rights abuses against Nike. The complaint, filed with the US National Contact Point, alleges the US sportswear giant has contributed to “severe human rights impacts” for garment workers in its supply chain. Specifically, it claims Nike has not addressed and remediated the impacts according to the OECD Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct. Nike has not responded to unions’ requests for dialogue about these impacts.
