    Garment production hubs could be underwater by 2030, study claims

    GENEVA – Many garment production hubs in Asia will be underwater by 2030, a new paper claims. Researchers overlaid maps of rising sea levels onto garment factory locations and found that rising sea levels are threatening thousands of suppliers with submersion unless they relocate to higher ground.

    The analysis covered Jakarta, Phnom Penh, Tirippur, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Columbo, and Ho Chi Minh City.
