PARIS – The French Parliament has backed a series of measures aimed at penalising ultra-fast fashion from Chinese brands such as SHEIN. MPs agreed unanimously on the measures, including a surcharge linked to fast fashion’s ecological footprint of €5 per item from next year, rising to €10 by 2030. MPs say the charge will not exceed 50 percent of an item’s price tag.
