LONDON – The era of sourcing-cost price deflation in fashion supply chains is over, according to a new survey of chief purchasing officers by consultants McKinsey. Their survey found that for the first time in ten years, hikes in shipping costs and raw materials prices are major concerns sourcing executives. “This, too, is not going to go away anytime soon,” the briefing says. “Further consolidation of shipping companies may worsen capacity limits, and costs are expected to stay high.”
