    Fashion failing on climate change efforts, study finds

    SAN FRANCISCO — New research claims the fashion sector is failing in its efforts to tackle climate change due to its heavy dependence on carbon-intensive supply chains. 47 apparel retailers were assessed on issues including climate commitments and transparency, renewable and energy-efficient manufacturing, use of low-carbon materials and greener shipping.

    The retailers were chosen for their participation in various climate and sustainability initiatives.
