BRUSSELS – France is one of four countries calling for the EU to introduce new levies on apparel brands that use a ‘fast fashion’ marketing strategy. Austria, Finland, France, and the Netherlands are urging their EU counterparts to support strict measures aimed at curbing the trend of inexpensive and disposable garments. The measures would allow governments to charge firms whose marketing strategies promote ‘fast fashion’ consumerism.
