BRUSSELS – An EU-backed project is carrying out a series of audits in Cambodian garment factories as part of a drive to steer the industry towards clean and renewable energy. The project, backed by €3m of European Union funding, will promote the adoption of sustainable energy practices in Cambodia’s garment sector, the country’s largest employer and a key export market.
Measures to promote the adoption of sustainable energy practices in garment manufacturing in Cambodia will include regulatory and enforcement work, stimulating demand for sustainable energy technologies/services and increasing the supply of technologies/services and financial solutions for this purpose.
