LONDON – The Burberry Foundation, in partnership with Oxfam and the PUR Project, has announced a five-year programme which, it says, aims to build resilience within the cashmere supply chain of Afghanistan. The programme aims to help “herders enhance their livelihoods and create a prosperous local supply chain to benefit the community in the long term.”
“Hand in hand with local communities, the programme is educating and empowering herders to realise the benefits of cashmere fibre,” said Burberry in a press note.
