TEXAS – A new standard is in the pipeline for mohair production, “in response to requests for stakeholders,” which include leading international apparel brands. John Lewis and Filippa K are among brands who remain committed to mohair despite a Peta investigation last year which highlighted animal cruelty on two South African goat farms. Since then, Peta has told Apparel Insider that 349 brands have ditched mohair from their collections – which seems a disproportionate response to a couple of pockets of bad practice.
