HAWASSA – Mixed messages are coming from Ethiopia’s flagship textile park, Hawassa, regarding workers at Indochine Apparel PLC and KGG Garments PLC allegedly being subject to unpaid leave, forced overtime and pay cuts.
H&M, Levi Strauss & Co. and PVH are publicly named as buyers of Indochine Apparel, while The Children’s Place is also named as sourcing from the factories. The former three all dispute the issues raised, while The Children’s Place has ignored requests for comment.
