BEIJING – Levi’s is the world’s top ranked apparel brand in a new report which assesses leading global brands on their green supply chain practices in Asia. Adidas, H&M, C&A, Primark, Inditex, Nike and Target are also ranked in the top ten of the latest Green Supply Chain CITI (Corporate Information Transparency Index) evaluation report, published by Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE).
Disappointedly, however, over the same time period this past year, IPE saw a stagnation in CITI scores at the bottom of the ranks. Here, 79 companies continued to score zero on CITI – indicating no activity on the ground whatsoever – not even responding to a concern about a factory brought to their attention by IPE or a concerned citizen. Kappa, DKNY, Umbro, Hush Puppies, River Island and Pierre Cardin were the western apparel companies we identified as falling into this category.
