MANCHESTER – Fast growing online fashion retailer, Boohoo, has cut ties with hundreds of UK suppliers following a critical review of its operations in the wake of a damning report produced by Alison Levitt QC. The business has published a full list of its UK based suppliers, which now numbers less than 100, having previously been estimated at around 500. Part of this reduction can be explained by the company’s drive to remove sub-contracting.
The new UK supply chain list now includes just 78 approved suppliers across 100 factories.
It is not clear yet whether part of Boohoo’s sourcing has moved overseas as the business has yet to publish a list of suppliers outside the UK.
