MANCHESTER – China is now comfortably the largest sourcing hub of UK fast fashion retailer Boohoo. The business this week published a complete list of its suppliers on its website for the first time. This shows Boohoo is now working with more than 400 suppliers in China, double its next largest sourcing destination which is Turkey, where it uses 200 suppliers.

Notably, Boohoo is now working with less than 100 suppliers from the UK. The company was forced to cut its UK supply base after the review by Alison Levitt QC found the fast fashion retailer had been working with up to 500 UK suppliers when subcontractors were included. The review suggested there were “endemic” problems at Leicester factories in its supply chain, including minimum wage and life-threatening fire risk.
