COPENHAGEN – Danish fashion retailer Bestseller has announced a halt to all apparel sales in Russia amid the country’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Bestseller, which owns the Jack&Jones and Vero Moda brands among others, previously sold into Russia via distributors in Finland and Poland. The move to halt sales there follows growing condemnation from the international community about Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

Notably, the world’s two largest fashion retailers, H&M and Inditex – which owns Zara – remain massively exposed in Russia. Both have hitherto declined to comment on the issue when approached by Apparel Insider but will likely come under growing pressure to take a stand on the issue in the coming weeks.
